Beste lezer,
Niettegenstaande de moeilijke economische context heeft de Stichting voor Alzheimer Onderzoek toch een meer dan bevredigend jaar achter de rug.
De milde giften van onze donatoren blijven ongeveer op hetzelfde peil, waarvoor we hen allen natuurlijk van harte danken.
De inkomsten uit schenkingen ter gelegenheid van verjaardagen, jubileums of begrafenissen zijn sterk toegenomen. Wij danken dan ook alle families die ons langs deze weg hebben gesteund.
En 'last but not least' ook de legaten ten voordele van de Stichting voor Alzheimer Onderzoek worden elk jaar significanter.
Al deze vormen van steun aan de Stichting voor Alzheimer Onderzoek hebben ervoor gezorgd dat we dit jaar onze steun aan het wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar de ziekte van Alzheimer nog kunnen opdrijven.
Wij financieren dit jaar dan ook maar liefst 9 nieuwe onderzoeksprojecten voor een bedrag van 700.000 EUR. Daarnaast, en in samenwerking met de Koning Boudewijnstichting via het fonds 'Aline', kunnen we nog één extra project financieren, goed voor nog eens 100.000 EUR. Dit brengt onze totale financiële steun aan het onderzoek dit jaar op 800.000 EUR!
Wij zijn dan ook alle milde schenkers en de Koning Boudewijnstichting dankbaar voor hun vertrouwen in onze stichting en voor hun financiële steun aan het onderzoek.
Samen met jullie allen zullen wij blijven werken aan een toekomst zonder Alzheimer.
Meteen maak ik van de gelegenheid gebruik om u allen een vreugdevolle Kerst en een voorspoedig en gelukkig nieuwjaar toe te wensen.
